Who We Are

liberland.io is developed and run by Liberland's Meritocratic Party. This party, currently participating in Liberland's congress, represents the vast majority of Liberland's active contributors, citizens and settlers. This is clearly visible on the blockchain by the number of individuals voting for the Party's congress representatives and candidates.

The Current Situation

However, due to unregulated, unplanned distribution of merits to wealthy individuals who are conveniently "friends" of the president or simply don't care much and vote for the president's choice, the majority of the congress is still elected by the president and his peers, or better said "appointed". The party does not currently rule Liberland despite representing the active community.

Our Principles

The Meritocratic Party does not agree with the current administration on several aspects, one of which is censorship and manipulation of information about Liberland. At the same time, the current administration favors publicity of Liberland before building a community and does not think "citizens-first", which also reflects on the design of liberland.org.

Working Together

However, both the Meritocratic Party and the cabinet of Liberland cooperate very closely, almost like a single unit. liberland.io could be almost thought of as the "citizen/community portal" of Liberland, the contact point for contributors, citizens, and people with any sort of inquiries regarding Liberland.

Citizenship applications, donations, and requests regarding IDs and documents are handled jointly by Liberland's backoffice.

Given the organic nature of the Liberland movement, and the fact that the Meritocratic Party represents not only most active Liberlanders but also many who have been deeply involved in Liberland's core for years, and the fact that both liberland.io and liberland.org are run by founders of the movement and the same people in many cases, neither of the two website can be considered more "official" than the other.
